“One Belt, One Road” key project: China and Egypt jointly build “Africa’s tallest building”
The Iconic Tower is located in the desert about 50 kilometers east of Cairo. It is one of the core projects of Egypt’s new administrative capital. The tower is 385.8 meters high and is truly the “tallest building in Africa”. As a model of cooperation between China and Egypt under the “Belt and Road” initiative, the tower started construction in 2018 and the main structure was capped in 2023. The curtain wall has been covered and is about to be completed. It is hailed as the “new pyramid” by the locals, symbolizing Egypt’s hope for the future and a modern interpretation of ancient civilization.
The tallest building in Africa
The landmark tower covers a total area of about 65,000 square meters, with a construction area of about 262,000 square meters. It is 385.8 meters high and has 78 floors. It integrates office, hotel, commercial, sightseeing and other functions. Among them, the 74th floor of the building will have an observation deck, where tourists can overlook the entire new capital from 360 meters above the ground.
Combination of modern and traditional
The local climate is hot and dry, with the highest temperature reaching 50 degrees Celsius. The curtain wall of the building needs to have strong sun protection and high temperature resistance. The tower has a double semi-cylindrical appearance, with decorative aluminum panels with horizontal sunshades and hyperbolic zipper beams, just like the outer garment of the ancient Egyptian goddess Wadjet. These design elements not only enhance practical functions, such as reducing direct sunlight and controlling indoor temperature, but also increase the visual appeal of the building, making it a building that combines modernity and tradition.

The overall structure of the Egyptian landmark tower is an arc-shaped gradual structure, and the aluminum plate as a decorative line also changes gradually, and the lighting effect is completely realized on the aluminum plate. In order to pursue the best appearance effect, the designer uses an open intersection with the light strip, and requires that the exterior surface of our aluminum plate cannot have any defects. Whether it is from the dimensional accuracy, angle curvature, or paint effect, the requirements for Yaret are very stringent.
Each batch of Yaret products is shipped with strict and professional on-site inspection data from each section. In addition to daily inspection report tracking, each process flow is summarized on a weekly basis to continuously strive for excellence.
